Today in Delaware History
1968 Through legislation signed by Governor Charles Terry, tavern patrons
were allowed to stand up to a bar and drink alcohol.

That's amazing to me. So were barstools in existance or did people have to sit only at tables? What was it like before this?

Comments:
Paul- I had a little chuckle at this one myself this morning. And I just posted it on my blog too. I'd love to know what exactly this means. I think you're right that people had to sit at tables and couldn't order from the bar themselves.

No, you had to dance and drink. Delaware was like a huge Greek wedding.

Paul- I did a little legal research and found out what this meant. Check it out here.
